A free class, IDENTIFYING FRAUDS AND SCAMS will be held THURSDAY, NOV. 21, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, at the Orland Community Center, 21 Schoolhouse Road, Orland. This course is sponsored by the Orland Broadband Committee, the National Digital Equity Center (NDEC) and Island Institute. During this 1-hour course you will learn about the different types of internet fraud and scams, the dos and don’ts of protecting yourself online and what to do if you have experienced online fraud or abuse. Orland Luminary Ceremony: Brighten up Orland’s shortest days with a little candle and community cheer on Saturday December 20th. Put a luminary in your yard, in front of your house, or help others place luminaries throughout the Village and along Castine Road starting at 2:15pm on Saturday December 20th at the Old Fire Station located at 91 School House Road Orland. Dress warmly, wear bright visible clothing and bring seasonal/solstice cheer. Snacks afterwards at a location to be determined.
