Orland Luminary Ceremony: Brighten up Orland’s shortest days with a little candle and community cheer on Saturday December 20th. Put a luminary in your yard, in front of your house, or help others place luminaries throughout the Village and along Castine Road starting at 2:15pm on Saturday December 20th at the Old Fire Station located at 91 School House Road Orland. Dress warmly, wear bright visible clothing and bring seasonal/solstice cheer. Snacks afterwards at a location to be determined. Special Town Meeting 12/13/2024

The Town of Orland will hold a Special Town Meeting onFriday, December 13, 2024, at 6:00pm, at the Orland Community Center,21 School House Rd, Orland, ME 04472, to vote on warrant article “Shall the Town participate in the statutory consultation process (see 38 M.R.S. § 902), together with other towns affected by the petition to abandon ownership of the Toddy Pond dam and Alamoosook Lake dam, to obtain sufficient information about the dam and the town’s legal options of facilitating an agreement for dam ownership, including whether to participate in or otherwise support a group that would accept ownership of the dam?
