Schools
Orland is a member of Regional School Unit 25, which serves Bucksport and surrounding towns. Most Orland students attend RSU 25 schools. As of October 1, 2025, Orland had 198 students enrolled in the district.

Orland School officially closed in 2011, when all elementary students transitioned to attending schools in Bucksport. The former schoolhouse has an exciting new life as the Orland Community Center, which currently hosts a variety of local businesses, town meetings, and a fitness center.

School Choice
Maine law allows high school students to attend schools outside their home district. Nine Orland high school students currently exercise this option. Schools currently enrolling Orland students through school choice include:
