Transfer Station Decals

A Town decal affixed to vehicles is required for access to the facility.
To obtain a decal, please bring your auto registration or a copy of your real estate tax bill to the transfer station.

Transfer Station Disposal Tips

• No liquids allowed
• Tires must have rims removed. Up to 8 tires per day
• Paint cans must be dried out with lids removed
• Seafood shells must be bagged in plastic and disposed of in the indicated compactor.
• Bagged leaves, grass and yard/garden clippings may be disposed of in a compactor
• Brush Pile is for tree limbs and brush not exceeding 6' in length and 6" in diameter
• Metal items, large or small, including clean cans, may be recycled in Dumpster #4
• Re-Sale Shop located in the transfer station garage. Funds from sales used to offset expenses. Donated items are appreciated. All items are accepted at the discretion of the attendant.

Disposal Fees

• Household demolition: $15/$40 per pickup truck load depending on size
• Asphalt shingles: $15 to $30. Limit 2 loads per household
• Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, de-humidifiers: $20 each
  (Refrigerator and freezer doors must be removed)
• Large Appliances (Stove, Washer, Dryer): $10.00
• Televisions : $3.00 each regardless of size. Dispose of inside garage
• Fluorescent tubes: $.50 per foot
• CFLs and similar- $.50 each
• PC's/laptops- $2.00 each
• Lithium batteries- $1.00 each. No charge for car batteries.
• Cellphones, thermostats, and smoke detectors- $1.00 each

Re-Use Shop

When weather permits, we operate a “re-use” shop at the town transfer station. Similar to a thrift shop, we accept donations of household items for resale to others. Prices on items are by donation and money collected goes to offset the expenses of running the transfer station. Users of the re-sale shop are asked to move their vehicles forward from the high traffic area around the bins. 

Please Note: If you own property in another town, trash and demolition items from that town cannot be brought to the Orland Transfer Station, even if you also own property in Orland.
